Welcome to EmComm Services!
The EMCOMM mission is to support the Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES) in Brown and Kewaunee County. Our mission includes ownership and management of physical assets and the receipt of donations and disbursement of funding for goods and services used to implement and upgrade ARES capabilities.
IT'S ESSENTIAL!
Natural and manmade disasters will disrupt commercial networks used for telephones, cell phones, Internet, and even police and fire communications. When this happens, Amateur Radio is there to bridge the gap between communities, shelters, hospitals, civil authorities, and County Emergency Operations Centers. EMCOMM Services will furnish the resources necessary to provide the Amateur Radio Emergency Service® with the equipment needed to deliver this critical support.
THE AMATEUR RADIO EMERGENCY SERVICE
EMCOMM Services supports the Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES), which consists of licensed amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment, with local ARES leadership, for communications duty in the public service when disaster strikes.
ARES Operators participate in weekly on-the-air training and monthly training meetings held at the Brown County Emergency Operations Center. Additionally, ARES conducts annual state-wide communications drills and supports special training as arranged by Served Agencies.
